 Total hip replacement (THR) is an elective surgery. With the aging population and the increase in arthritic disease and joint failure, the number of THR continues to increase. The goals for THR are to relieve pain and improve function.
There are two types of total hip replacement performed:
- Primary total hip replacement
- Revision total hip replacement.
