The Michigan Health & Hospital Association has, for the seventh time, awarded Oakwood Healthcare System its Ludwig Community Benefit Award. The honor is bestowed upon health care organizations that demonstrate community benefit by collaborating with other local organizations to improve the overall health and well-being of their communities.

Oh what a night! If you didn’t attend the 2009 Red Tie Ball, you missed a wonderful evening full of philanthropy, entertainment and celebrity. The Red Tie Ball held Saturday, May 2 at Joe Louis Arena greeted over 465 guests for a strolling black tie dinner ON ICE.

The CEF and the University of Michigan-Dearborn Early Childhood Education Center (ECES), as well as the Clinical Learning Center celebrated the grand opening of the shared facility with a fun night of activities facilitated by the Radio Disney AM 910 Road Crew on April 16.

Over 1,000 Oakwood employees from every site generously gave of their time, talents and money to give Christmas to those who wouldn’t have had one. The holiday party was held at the Lincoln Jefferson School on Dec. 18.
