Heart disease is a concern for many Americans. It’s the leading cause of death for men and women, with nearly 65 million Americans having some form of the disease. While heart disease is certainly more widely recognized, disease of the outlying “peripheral” arteries — particularly those in the abdomen, kidneys, neck, brain, arms and legs — affects approximately eight million Americans, of which only 25 percent seek treatment. The Center for Heart and Vascular Services at Oakwood Healthcare System is dedicated to providing high quality medical treatment, and our experienced team has been involved in thousands of cardiac and vascular procedures.
