Matthew J. Zimmie M.D. is a board-certified, practicing, family physician and Medical Director of Information Technology for Oakwood Healthcare Inc. Dr Zimmie is responsible for the evaluation, implementation, and adoption of health care technology for clinicians throughout the system. His priority is the meaningful use of health information technology to provide safe, efficient, high-quality care to patients. His current focus is Oakwood’s EPIC electronic health record implementation: “OakCare”. Dr Zimmie was born and raised in Michigan. He received his medical training at Michigan State University and graduated in 2001.
