Oakwood welcomes Downriver doctor to physician network

Brownstown, Mich. On March 18, 2011, Michael McKenzie, DO, became a member of the Oakwood Physician Network (OPN), joining the staff at the Oakwood Center for Hematology & Oncology – Downriver in Brownstown. Dr. McKenzie has been practicing oncology in the downriver area for 35 years.

“I am pleased about becoming a member of the Oakwood Physician Network. In addition to seeing patients in the office, our center offers on-site chemotherapy and infusion services.” said Michael McKenzie, DO.”

Dr. McKenzie received his medical degree from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Detroit Osteopathic Hospital, and a fellowship in medical oncology at M.D. Anderson Hospital and Tumor Institute in Texas. He is board certified in internal medicine and medical oncology and is on staff at Oakwood Southshore Medical Center in Trenton.

Led by Mohammed Ogaily, MD, FACP, the Oakwood Center for Hematology & Oncology – Downriver opened in January. Ogaily has practiced oncology and hematology in the downriver area for 12 years.

Ogaily received his medical degree from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. He then went on to complete his residency in internal medicine at the Albany Medical College of Union University in New York, followed by a fellowship in hematology and medical oncology at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.

He is board certified in internal medicine and medical oncology and is an assistant clinical professor at Michigan State University. Dr. Ogaily is on staff at Oakwood Hospital & Medical Center in Dearborn, Oakwood Southshore Medical Center in Trenton and Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital in Wyandotte.
