Oakwood Bone and Joint Institute rehab center earns five star rating

Taylor, Mich. –  The Skilled Rehab Center at the Oakwood Bone and Joint Institute at Oakwood Heritage Hospital in Taylor received a five-star rating from the federal government recently. Medicare rated the facility with an overall five-star rating based on annual site visits.

The facility received a five-star rating in health inspections, with no deficiencies reported. The national average is eight, while the Michigan average is 9.

“We’ve never had any deficiencies,” said Nicole Doxey, manager of the center.

The facility also received a five-star rating for staffing, averaging nearly five hours of licensed nurse time per resident, per day and four hours of Certified Nursing Assistant hours per resident, per day. The statewide average is about two and 2.5 hours, respectively.

“We are proud to be recognized for the quality of service we provide here,” said Doxey. “It’s a total team effort and we have a great team here.”
