Join us at the Red Tie Ball May 7

Register for Oakwood’s Red Tie Ball scheduled for Saturday, May 7 at the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit.

Your generous participation will benefit Oakwood’s Center for Exceptional Families, the only place in Michigan to offer fully integrated, family centered care for children with special needs, their siblings and parents — all under one roof.

This year’s Red Tie Ball is presented by ER One in memory of Gary Christopher, MD. Dr. Christopher had long been a fixture in the emergency department at Oakwood Hospital & Medical Center when illness forced him to leave the job he loved.

Dr. Christopher was also very active with the Oakwood Foundation, according to Carla O’Malley, executive director. He served as a member of the board for more than 8 years and helped support many charitable initiatives through the Physician Giving Campaign.

“While Dr. Christopher’s passing leaves a great void at Oakwood, his spirit is alive and well in the example he set with not only patient care in the Emergency Department, but his spirit of philanthropy through his leadership in the Oakwood Physician Giving Society and his guidance and counsel on the Foundation Board,” said O’Malley.

Oakwood’s Center for Exceptional Families is dependent on philanthropy to operate. Your purchase of a ticket to this event will help support the operational costs of the center.

To purchase tickets and for additional ways to support the Center for Exceptional Families, call the Oakwood Foundation at 313.586.5234 or visit the registration page on oakwood.org/foundation.
