Oakwood welcomes new Gastroenterologist

M. Fuad Azrak, MD, MPH, a fellowship-trained gastroenterologist, has joined the Oakwood Physician Network and is on staff at Oakwood Hospital & Medical Center in Dearborn.

Dr. Azrak earned his medical degree from the University of Aleppo in Syria and went on to complete his residency in internal medicine at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, where he also served as teaching faculty. In addition, Dr. Azrak completed a gastroenterology fellowship at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. While there, he served as a Guest Researcher at the Division of Cancer Prevention and Control at Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta.

Dr. Azrak also holds a master’s degree in public health from Wayne State University in Detroit.

Dr. Azrak is board certified in internal medicine and nutrition. His clinical interests include advanced therapeutic endoscopy (endoscopic ultrasound, ERCP, and endoscopic ablation of superficial neoplasms), and treatment and prevention of colon cancer and acid reflux.

Dr. Azrak enjoys participating in sports such as tennis, volleyball and soccer., During his spare time, he also likes to read and travel with his family.
