Why Should I Exercise?

Certified Athletic Trainers (ATC) are medical professionals who specialize in the prevention, assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of injuries to athletes and others who are engaged in everyday physical activities.

Under the direction of a licensed physician, the ATC functions as an integral member of the healthcare team in Professional & Collegiate sports, Secondary & Intermediate schools, Sports medicine clinics, Hospital ER & rehab clinics, Occupational settings, Fitness centers and Physicians offices.

Oakwood Sports Medicine supports public education and healthcare professional continuing education. We provide or participate in lecture series, guest speaker roles, clinical symposia and outreach / specialty programs such as our Runner’s Clinic and Throwing Seminar. Oakwood Sports Medicine is actively involved in the MHSAA’s Weight Monitoring Program for high school wrestlers.
