The Lupus Foundation of America estimates there are 1.5 million people in the United States suffering from this auto-immune disease. Yet lupus may be even more prevalent because it is so difficult to recognize and diagnose. I’m pleased to have Dr. Ilyes Benchaala with us today. Dr. Benchaala is an Oakwood-affiliated rheumatologist with the Wayne State University Physician Group. He sees patients in Dearborn, Detroit and Taylor. He is also an Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine in the Division of Rheumatology at Wayne State University School of Medicine.
