Introducing Couplet Care
At our world-class Birthing Center, Annapolis supports and encourages couplet care, in which newborns remain with their mothers in the same room for their entire stay. Couplet care enhances bonding and the ability to breastfeed. If mom and dad need a break from time to time, we offer two hour rest periods, at your request, where the staff will gladly care for your infant.
Safety and Support Always
We want expectant mothers to know that we are prepared for anything, and safety is our top priority. With our newborn security system, HUGS, we ensure that all of our babies are protected inside the unit. The state-of-the-art system sounds an alarm if an infant is moved from the unit without authorization.
Women have access to 24-hour anesthesia coverage for safe and effective pain management options. In addition we have 24-hour in-house obstetrical coverage by attending obstetricians, and family medicine coverage. 24 hour neonatal support is provided. Rest assured knowing that Oakwood Hospital & Medical Center in Dearborn is nearby, should your newborn require close monitoring in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
