U.S. News & World Report rankings
U.S. News ranks three out of four Oakwood hospitals as among the top in the region and state. OH-D, OH-S and OH-W were recognized based on their performance excellence against quality, safety and patient care in 16 specialty areas.

   

Patient Centered Medical Home designation
Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan (BCBSM) designated 74 Oakwood physicians as patient-centered medical home practices.

   

Joint Commission recertification

The joint replacement programs at OHMC, Southshore and Heritage earned recertification from the Joint Commission Disease Specific Care. This distinction demonstrates the joint programs’ environment of consistent and high-quality patient care.

   

PEAK Award

For the third straight year, Oakwood Heritage Hospital has received the VHA Central PEAK Award for Performance Excellence for sustaining overall clinical performance excellence on the 12 value-based purchasing indicators identified and measured by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services as evidence of patient care quality.

   
 

Oakwood Southshore Medical Center was honored as one of four recipients of the Truven Health Advantage Award in the category of Health and Clinical Outcomes in recognition of its achievement of extraordinary quality improvement in business line performance.

Electronic Medical Records recognition

Oakwood hospitals are among the only 10 percent of hospitals across the country to earn Stage 6 recognition from the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Analytics for its investment in and commitment to the adoption of an Electronic Medical Records system. Of the 5,400 U.S. hospitals tracked by HIMSS Analytics, only 533 have earned this distinction.

  Most Wired Award
Oakwood Healthcare is one of only seven metro Detroit hospitals named as ‘Most Wired’ by Hospital and Health Networks Magazine. The list is based on the Most Wired survey and benchmarking study that asks hospitals and health systems around the nation about how they use information technology to address four key areas: infrastructure, business and administrative management, clinical quality and safety, and clinical integration.

Gift of Life

Oakwood Hospital & Medical Center is a proud Gift of Life Michigan representative and one of the first hospitals in Michigan to continuously fly the Donate Life flag to raise awareness for organ donation. OHMC has won the prestigious Medal of Honor granted by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for five consecutive years.
