A registered dietitian as well as a registered nurse will help monitor changes in your blood pressure and blood sugars and report to your primary care physician.
As when participating in any reduced calorie diet you must get the support of your primary care physician if you suffer from certain comorbidities or are over the age of 50.
We are currently not taking smokers in our program.

I have always struggled with weight loss, mostly because I wasn't doing it correctly. Going through this program has taught me to look at labels and to pay attention to the kinds of foods I was eating, and to be mindful as to the reason I was eating. This is a wonderful program with wonderful support and information.

Joining the Oakwood Weight loss program was the push I needed to get motivated in the right direction. Once I had the right frame of mind, the dietitian and her staff taught me the proper food selection, a well balanced diet and the guided support for continued success. I think the biggest thing I learned was that it's ok to eat while you’re on a diet. You don't have to run around starving while you lose weight. Making the right choices on what to eat was the biggest accomplishment for me. I've learned to balance my day with a good diet and of course, exercise.
