Patient-focused care ROC - video

Our Mission
To provide excellence in care, healing and health to the patients and communities we serve. “Serve” being a principle word in defining who we are as nurses. Patients come first in our professional world, and putting those patients first requires a philosophy that goes beyond the traditional thinking. It’s a philosophy that we call Relationship Oriented Care (ROC).

Our Vision
“Patients Come First.” We strive to be a visible community of nurses, engaged in guiding the delivery of care, inspired to positively impact our patient’s experience.

Relationship Oriented Care is the keystone of our patient focus. Uniting the art and science of nursing, we emphasize core relationships between nurses and patients/families. Our nurses perform bedside reporting and staff introductions, setting the stage for patient-focused interviews. By focusing on communicating and listening to our patients, ROC leads to improved employee and patient satisfaction.

Our Philosophy of Care
With advances in healthcare and the changing needs of our patient population, there’s little doubt that providing quality care requires a specific direction.

Our direction, Relationship Oriented Care, combines the best in patient-centered communication with high impact team practices. We unite outcomes-focused care with critical thinking and problem solving.

We leverage the best in interdisciplinary collaboration. In everything we set out to achieve for patients, our nurses consider:

  • Purpose (i.e. What is my personal purpose in doing this job?)
  • Picture (i.e. What is my picture of a successful shift?)
  • Plan (i.e. How will we make those outcomes occur?)
  • Part (i.e. What part does each team member play?)
