Pelvic Rehabilitation Program
Oakwood offers a full range of physical therapy services including women’s pelvic floor rehabilitation. Our physical therapists have special training and experience with evaluation and treatment of conditions affecting the pelvic region. Our goal is to help eliminate your pain, improve function, and empower you with knowledge to manage your health.

Some of the conditions that we treat

  • Incontinence (bladder)
  • Pelvic pain
  • Back pain
  • Uterine prolapse
  • Relaxation of vaginal outlet (rectocele, cystocele)
  • Interstitial cystitis/painful bladder syndrome
  • Vulvar pain
  • Dyspareunia (painful intercourse) and vaginismus (vaginal burning)
  • Coccyx (tailbone) pain
  • Pain or weakness after gynecological surgery
  • Levator ani syndrome
Treatment primarily consists of soft tissue stretching and massage, myofascial release, and joint mobilizations. In addition, pelvic floor muscle control with therapeutic exercises and surface EMG/biofeedback are techniques to assist with regaining normal function.
