The first Doctors Day observance was on March 30, 1933 in Winder, Georgia when Eudora Brown Almond, wife of Dr. Charles B. Almond, decided to set aside a day to honor physicians. Now an annual observance, National Doctors Day provides us an opportunity to recognize and thank those who have invested their time, talent and compassion into improving the health of their patients and communities. We have two Oakwood-affiliated physicians with us. Dr. Timothy Sell is a thoracic surgeon with offices in Dearborn. Also, Dr. NiJuanna Irby-Johnson is an internal medicine physician; she sees patients in the Oakwood Health Center in Dearborn.
